More information about traveline
Traveline is a project being developed in partnership with Local Authorities and bus operators to implement central government's Passenger Transport Information System (PTI).

During the past two years the Norfolk County Council has been actively involved, regionally and locally, in the development and delivery of the first phase of Traveline. The Council will eventually become a minority shareholder in a company named EAPTIS which is a focus for partnership working between operators and local authorities in the region to deliver passenger transport information, including rail services. The East Anglia region consists of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. All bus operators providing services in the East Anglia region are obliged to participate in Traveline.

Although Traveline currently provides timetable information, it is expected to extend its service in due course to provide details of fares and other relevant public transport information, in accordance with nationally adopted standards.

Norfolk's Bus Strategy
Norfolk County Council has written the Bus Strategy as a requirement of the 2000 Transport Act.  The Bus Strategy is not just about local bus services, it is also about information, infrastructure and ticketing.  It explains the context in which bus services are delivered, identifies the factors that make for a successful and efficient bus operation and sets out a series of policies and actions.  The Council is not a bus operator but is the strategic transport authority and provides considerable funding for bus services and complementary facilities.  Operators are clearly fundamental partners in the delivery of the Strategy and the partnership approach is recognised as being critical to successful delivery of the Strategy.  It is a five year Strategy and complements the Local Transport Plan.  You can view the Bus Strategy on-line or for your printed copy of the document contact us.
